About Region Encoding
You may wonder why a DVD purchased overseas will not play in your American DVD player. This is because all commercial DVDs are specifically limited to play only on DVD players marketed to a certain part of the world. Region encoding is part of the DVD copy protection system, and we cannot circumvent copy protection to make copies (no matter how much you plead...).

Video CD (VCD) Video CD (VCD and SVCD)

The VideoCD format is very popular in other parts of the world. If you received a VideoCD from far away and cannot play it in your player, we will transfer the entire program onto a standard DVD. SVCD is similar to VCD but with much higher picture quality (and less time on each disc).

Yes, we can handle PAL (European) and other worldwide discs!

Overseas About Worldwide Formats
(NTSC, PAL, SECAM)

When is a VHS not a VHS tape?

Got a DVD that came from overseas and won't play?

VHS and DVD are physical formats that are the same throughout the world. But the way in which information is stored on them varies from country to country. In North America, NTSC rules. This is the format of all video tapes and DVDs you've recorded and bought at home. In other parts of the world, tapes and discs are recorded in PAL, SECAM, or one of the many variations on these formats.

You do not need to know which format your tape or disc uses. We handle all worldwide formats and will figure it out for you, and transfer it to a tape or disc that you will be able to enjoy. (The only exception is DVDs containing region encoding. See the entry for DVDs above for further information.)

Files Video Data Files
(AVI, QuickTime, MPEG1, MPEG2, Real Media, Windows Media)

If you've created a video on your computer, we can transfer it to any video format, including VHS or regular DVD (for a stand-alone player). Just place it on either a CD or DVD writeable disc and mail it to us, or upload directly to our server for quicker processing (files less than 40MB).

You're only limited by your imagination (and possibly modem speed).
